How do we collect your data?
Your data is collected in part by you providing it to us (e.g. contact form transmissions). Other data is collected automatically by our systems when you visit the website. This includes technical data such as browser type, operating system, time of access, and originating planet.
Interplanetary data transmission
Data transmitted between Earth and Mars is subject to signal delay of approximately 3–22 minutes. All transmissions are encrypted. We do not store data on intermediate relay stations.

3. Data Collection on This Website
Server Log Files
The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser transmits. These include: browser type/version, operating system, referrer URL, hostname, time of request, and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources. Collection is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Contact Form
When you send us a transmission via the contact form, your information (name, email, message content) is stored for processing your inquiry. This data is not shared with third parties — on any planet. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
4. Analytics
This website uses Matomo, a self-hosted, open-source web analytics platform. Matomo runs on our own servers on Earth — no data is sent to third parties or other planets.
Cookie-less tracking: We have configured Matomo to operate without cookies. No cookie consent is required for analytics. Your IP address is anonymized before storage.
Opt-out: You may opt out of analytics tracking at any time. Please contact us via the uplink address above.
Cloudflare (Earth-side CDN / Reverse Relay): This website is delivered through the Content Delivery Network (CDN) and reverse proxy of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (Earth). Every browser request passes through Cloudflare's edge nodes before it reaches our origin server. During this transit, Cloudflare handles technically necessary connection metadata, in particular your IP address, timestamp, browser type and operating system, the referring URL and the requested resource. The purpose is mitigation of DDoS storms and bot swarms, fast and TLS-encrypted delivery (caching, TLS termination) and the continued availability and integrity of this site. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and performant site operation). For this Cloudflare may set technically necessary cookies (e.g. __cf_bm for bot detection, __cflb for load balancing); they serve security and load distribution only and do not perform user tracking. Data is transferred to the USA; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, complemented by EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is in place. Bot shielding (Cloudflare Turnstile): To keep rogue probes and surface-side bot swarms out of our contact form, we use Cloudflare Turnstile — a service of Cloudflare, Inc. (Earth). When the form loads, your browser fetches a script from Cloudflare that verifies — without a visible CAPTCHA — whether the request comes from a human or a bot. In the process, your IP address, a verification token and technical browser information are transmitted to Cloudflare. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Data is transferred to the USA; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, complemented by EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is in place. 5. Interplanetary Data Rights
Under GDPR and pending Mars Colony data protection frameworks, you have the right to:
- Request information about your stored personal data
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Restrict processing of your data
- Data portability (including cross-planetary transfer)
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Earth-based until Mars establishes one)
Note: Due to signal delay, data deletion requests from Mars may take up to 44 minutes for round-trip confirmation. We process all requests within one Earth business day of receipt.
